Abstract:

Formerly a chaplain at Yale University, William Sloane Coffin, Jr. came to national prominence in the 1960's through his involvement in civil rights and antiwar activities. In this paper, I will examine Coffin's rhetoric from the prophetic rhetorical perspective and discuss his contribution to the study of dissent rhetoric.
