Causation, Negligence, Credibility, and Presentation Influence: Testing for the Camera Perspective Bias in the Civil Trial Context

Abstract:The following article reports the results of two experimental studies designed to test for a camera perspective bias in the civil legal arena. Results suggest that the camera perspective (witness-only vs. split screen format) does affect mock juror evaluations of causal attributions, but not responses to dichotomous measures of negligence.
